I had to have a brain surgery...

So went through some messed up stuff recently. Back when I was a kid in the 80s, I had a situation where I had to have a tumor removed from my right ear. As a result of that my ear drum in that is basically trashed leaving me near deaf on that side. Because of that I had to see the doctor who removed the tumor for my whole life because he was a very caring man about what I had to go through as a child and I needed to be checked somewhat regularly because back then the non-invasive surgery options that exist now didn't exist yet. But a few years ago a crappy company bought the office he worked at which resulted in him retiring without warning...

My new ear doctor hasn't felt like he was as protective as my health as the one I saw through my whole childhood was. So this year when I was having ear pains he just kept guessing what it was instead of having any tests run. I eventually ended up in a situation where I had to go to my newer family doctor and he assumed it was something simple but due to my past issues made sure to have me get an MRI done. Then he called me literally a half hour after I had the MRI done...

I had a tumor pressing on my brain and my doctor while not a specialist was at least aware enough that it could cause me to have a seizure. So he heavily suggested I immediately go to the hospital. Neurosurgeon explained that it was actually worse than the family doctor said because it was causing swelling in my head. Apparently during the procedure I had a stroke and it took 9 hours so they could make sure to get every piece of the tumor out without damaging my brain.

After surgery, I don't remember much of anything for a little over a week. Surgery was on April 21st but I remember next to nothing until about April 29th. Soon after that I was sent up to the rehab floor because my muscles deteriorated and I had a bunch of words just unmemorable in my vocabulary. Rehab therapists were all very good people but the worst thing about being on that floor was that now I suddenly had a roommate (instead of being in a room alone) who was a man in his 70s that didn't care about other people trying to sleep.

First night I was on the rehab floor this guy was watching basketball until 3 AM. When they prevented him from doing that again though he'd randomly turn on the TV, his light, or use his phone loudly after midnight. He also always had his TV up super loud so I couldn't watch the TV myself without it being drowned out.

Luckily with the rehab work I was out by May 7th... the problem after that though is the rehab places they told me to go to all had no openings available. So we have ended up having to find a different one to go to and thanks to the evaluation I will only just finally be continuing my therapy on May 26th. Leaving more than two weeks between slowing my recovery down even more.

With all this... I don't know when or if I'll be doing Youtube videos again. I already was feeling discouraged for it taking too much of my time while working a full time job and the Algorithm making things confusing now compared to what they used to be like on my old channel.

I do still plan to keep doing text blogs however as long as I get back to doing things when I have the energy. So to anyone who has read this, thank you and happy gaming!
