The Backlog: Black Clover - Quartet Knights

Me playing this game recently is kind of amusing for a number of reasons. I bought the game a couple years ago dirt cheap during a Steam sale during a time where I'd buy almost anything if it was cheap enough with next to no knowledge about the game. At the time I hadn't even watched the anime yet but I figured I could do so before diving into the game. I finally started the anime in November of last year and it has become one of my favorite animes of all time. With what I'm about to say about this game though makes me wish the anime had more game options to play...

The Backlog: Invincible VS

Ironically this game is relatively newer than the stuff I usually review but I had to play it much later than I wanted to cause I was in the hospital for a brain surgery when it released. And fair warning, I am going to discuss the story at some point but I will state another warning before that as the last topic for anyone who wants to avoid spoilers.

The Backlog: Wuthering Waves

Playing a live service game that came out 2 years ago for the first time, I guess shouldn't be that much of a surprise as a person who's always playing a backlog. Though honestly I mainly tried this game out because of the crossover with Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and how much I like Rebecca. But as for my overall opinions of the game itself...

The Backlog: The Bayonetta Trilogy

I figured I might as well share my thoughts on these games since I played them late last year but I don't have enough to say about any individual one of them to justify doing a separate post for each one. So let's take a look at them in chronological order...

Gems of Gaming - Clair Obsur: Expedition 33

I'm not entirely sure where to start with this one. This is my first entry into a category that I am calling Gems of Gaming. I had originally planned this as a Youtube video series but I just do not have the spare time to put towards making videos with my full time job without stressing myself out because of how my brain works. Gems of Gaming will be games that are particularly special to me. Games I consider worthy of reverence. And this is gonna be a rare example where the game isn't an old one that I played years ago. I just finished it, so if this game hadn't been such a masterpiece, this would have just been an entry in Backlogged Gaming.

The Backlog: My Hero One's Justice 2

Back with another game from the backlog, this time it's My Hero One's Justice 2 from 2020. In spite of it being 5 years after the game's original release, it is however oddly still the most recent My Hero Academia game that is not a live service or mobile title.

The Backlog: Star Ocean - The First Departure

Finally played this game on PS4 and I have to admit... it's kind of weird playing the first game in the series more then 20 years after playing it's sequel. Star Ocean: The Second Story being one of my favorite games of all time but obviously part of the reason I didn't play Star Ocean 1 long ago is because the original version of it for the SNES was never released outside of Japan. Partially because Enix (when they were separate from Squaresoft) actually skipped localizing games for the entire SNES generation, likely part of why it took Dragon Quest so long to really pop off.

The Backlog: Mortal Kombat 11

Following up on my review of Mortal Kombat X from a few weeks ago I'm here now to put into words my thoughts on Mortal Kombat 11. I don't think I'll have AS much to say about this one as Mortal Kombat X but I still wanna put this out there.

The Backlog: Mortal Kombat X

Having played through Mortal Kombat X, Mortal Kombat 11, and Mortal Kombat 1 recently I figured I might as well share my thoughts on each. At least what thoughts I have to share. Didn't play them in this specific order but let's go with Mortal Kombat X first. The game that was their second try with the series after KM9 and Nether Realm brought the series back from the brink of death.

The Backlog: Marvel's Midnight Suns

It's rare that I play a game at release, but this is one of those times when I did. Because a Marvel RPG really appeals to me. For the record, I played this on Xbox because I'm wary of 2K on PC now that they're pushing yet another 3rd party game launcher on players.

The Backlog: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3

Wolverine can't stop smiling cause Disney's acquisition of Fox allowed him to be in a game again.

I need to start this out by saying something that I feel a lot of people talking about this game haven't really said. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 is NOT a sequel. That 3 at the end might make that rather confusing, but in spite of having the name of an existing series and being numbered, it is not an actual sequel to Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 and 2. It is at best a spiritual successor.

The Backlog: Street Fighter V /w Arcade Update

So I finally came back to this game after only playing it at it's original release on the PS4. Got the game and the first Season Pass during the Steam winter sale so I can give me thoughts on it now. At the very least it no longer feels like an Early Access game but is it worth your time or money? Let's discuss.
